My Three-day Food (and Shopping) Adventure

So there has been copius amounts of food and alcohol consumed in the last three days celebrating exams finishing.. with more emphasis on the food! I'm literally frothing at the mouth thinking about all the dishes!

Wednesday: 7-Course Spring Menu @ Waqu

Thursday: Pizza and Truffle Pasta @ (my favourite) Sticky Bar

Friday: Japanese HEAVEN @ Toko (another favourite)

...all in all, it was an amazing week. I couldn't have asked for better ways to spend my end-of-exam celebrations!

And now I'd be out character if I didn't talk about something fashion related! I won't spill the beans just yet, but I absolutely lost my shit at the Camilla & Marc and Natasha sales. The cherry on the top for an amazing weekend!

14 hours to go.

My brain is so drained from all of the cramming and information overload. Why must I do this to myself every semester?

Anywho, Behold! Some amazing faces which brightened up my day. Ive already noted down rosey bronzer for my cosmetic wishlist!

Summer is Here! 14 hours until I can finally enjoy it...

Thrasher vs. Thrasher

I'm a huge lover of denim shorts.. Actually denim in all forms (bedsides the hideous dungarees/overall), so when I first noticed thrasher denim shorts in boyfriend fit, I was on a mission to find myself a pair!

Jackpot! After a few months, and trying on borderline rubbished versions from One Teaspoon and overly priced $240 Ksubis, I managed to settle on two pairs for toss up - Insights and Bubblegums.

It's amazing how much I was caught between the two, despite the price difference of $50!

Insight
Bubblegum

Needless to say, after much deliberation, I picked the cheaper pair... Can you spot which one it was??

.......the second pair!

Pretty similar pairs, huh? Anywho, I was pretty happy with the purchase, now all that's left is some nifty styling to convince MP (the boy) that there as wicked as I think they am!

Leopard + Camel

You've seen this combo a thousand times before.. But I love it! People shunned the leopard (and was almost ruined by tacky executions and shops) but it's here, and it's not going anywhere! To be on trend, however, I'd stick to leopard in it's furry form.

As for the camel, let me reiterate the 1970s comeback.. In a huge way.

Neutrals and minimalism with a touch of animal.. Who'd have thought?!

...Why am I craving Winter pieces when Summer's just arrived for me? Typical!

RUNAWAY

You either love him, or you loathe him. Putting all conceitedness and egoism aside, the man is a lyrical genius!

Loving the Phoenix costume (designed by Phillip Lim) and Kanye's loafers.

Yes, yes..relatively old news to all you Kanye-crazed fans, but definitely worth the post, no matter how dated it is.

It's about Time!

Sorry It's definitely been a while since my last post.. I've actually spent the last couple of months deliberating on whether or not I should cancel my blog. Evidently, I decided to keep it, as I thought it'd be a waste deleting the hours I invested in my posts and miscellaneous rants!

I made a couple of tweaks in my name, so hope you enjoy my new not-so-revamped blog of unadulterated musings on fashion, lifestyle and beyond!

PS. Testing out this new method of posting via my iPhone, so bear with the glitches for now!

On a more interesting note, boy am I enjoying the rise of the Aussie Dollar! Keep it coming, and I may be able to cross more off my wishlist!

Hurrahh for a booming exchange rate!!! My lovely friend, Jess, is in the US of A for a couple of weeks and has been kind enough to leave me a bit of space for Wang in her already bursting luggage.

Question is, Rocco Mini or Millie?

Tips and Tricks

I know I'm not the fastest at posting up news, but Rae Morris' (Australia's numero uno make up artiste!) second bookm, Make Up: The Ultimate Guide, is a MUST HAVE.

I don't know what's wrong with me, but I've been really interested in lifting my make-up game, of late, and after months of drained pay buying new goodies, with the addition of this make-up bible; I really think I'm finally picking up some lifelong tips!

The book is spectacular, hands down defeats Bobbi Brown's books, and is pretty much idiot proof. I personally love how the book's just full of familiar-faced Aussie models (Ms McNeil, Kerr, Tozzi etc etc); and most importantly, special mentions of applying looks to different sizes, shapes and nationalities (hooray for techniques for Asian features!)

RRP. $39.95 @ Borders (and pretty much any good bookstore) - You will not regret purchasing it!

MECCA

Put America's most beautiful and stylish people in one area on a Wednesday night, and what do you get? a Chanel event - their SOHO boutique opening, to be exact.

Cliche choices, perhaps? I couldn't go past how beautiful their faces look - They outshone their outfits! Their complexions are aglow and their choices of make-up are outstanding!

dewy skinwinged eyes + barely there lips

= my most favourite look of all time!

To keep, or not to keep? NOT TO KEEP!

Following much deliberation, a couple of weeks ago I purchased these nude/tan Swedish hasbeen-esque clogs. After rightfully sending my Jeffrey Campbell bomb-of-a-pair back to the US, I decided that a lower heel was more suitable, and less trend fleeting (although, still not too sure about the longevity of them in general); but hey, lower heel = more wearbility. On the plus side, these don't look half bad with rolled up jeans and trousers... Possibly dresses and shorts if the weather decides to be nicer?

I haven't really had the chance to wear them yet, so I'm considering returning these...damn you, cognitive dissonance!

REFUNDED! - WELL PLAYED.. CLOGS ARE OUTTA HERE!

Borderlining an Obsession

So MP and I watched Going the Distance today (Despicable Me will just have to wait until next week!), and it didn't disappoint!

If you're thinking it's just going to be a romantic chick flick (which I wouldn't have minded anyway), think again. It's got such a funny dialogue, and we could kinda relate to parts of the storyline and the 'distance'. We walked out of the movie feeling a little bit more appreciative of the fact that we're only a drive away from each other.

And Drew, Drew, Drew... the movie made me love her (& Justin Long) even more!

Some pics of her out and about, promoting the movie. Love how she's wearing her grey Tribute Pumps everywhere!

Heart BECCA

I've always loved their campaigns; natural, ethereal, glowy skinned - exactly how I wish I looked! I think what sold and convinced me to walk up to their DJs counter was the fact that an Asian model was [finally!!] not being portrayed as a fair-skinned geisha doll! I don't have very fair skin and in Summer I tend to go quite tanned, so that last thing I want my make-up to do is make me look like is a doll.

I've been using BECCA make-up for about a year now  and although I don't use all of their products (I also haven't tried everything), I really recommend their Silky Hydrating Primer, Luminous Skin Colour SPF20 Foundation and concealer. Their skin products are really light and not cakey at all, so it's wearable all day. Not to mention their astounding colour range - I've never seen so many shades! Colour matching your skin tone to their products is a breeze, and each colour specifies what undertones they suit most ie. pinks, yellows, neutrals etc.

I could rave on more about their products, but I'm quite certain these campaigns will convince you enough to give them a visit!
